This is a 2 Session Course designed to give Clerks a greater insight into their role.

Session 1 – 11/02/2021
Session 2 – 25/02/2021
6.30 -9.15pm with a short break

Course Content:

 

Session one.  

Part 1 –     We open with your employment. Contract, Policies, Line management.

Organising your calendar, Points of reference. The Council and how it fits together.

Part 2 –    Duties and Powers, forming the agenda, and writing minutes.

Delegated responsibilities, including committees. Annual meetings.

Session two. 

Part 3 –   We look at accountability. Forming a Council plan to set a budget, in order to raise a precept.

Alongside 3 aspects of Governance and transparency requirements

Part 4 –   Resources for the council, people and finance. Working with the community for the community.

Ways to communicate and share ideas.

Prior to the session you will receive: an invitation to the session and copies of the slides and any other documents required for the session.
