Creating Accessible Documents

We are offering a 2 hour training session “Creating accessible documents

Course Content:
Most local council websites contain downloadable documents in Word or PDF format.

As a result of the Public Sector Website Accessibility legislation, these now need to meet globally recognised accessibility standards.

The basics of creating accessible Word documents (or PDF documents saved from Word) are straightforward if you know what to do and why to do it.

This two-hour online training session is very hands-on, starting with a sample inaccessible document.

Bit by bit, you learn how to improve the accessibility and the difference it will make to a range of disabled users.

With a “before” and “after” version of the document and access to the slides to revisit in your own time, this training course gives you a strong grounding in accessible practice.

Please note that, being an active session, you will need to be confident in moving between open applications – such as watching the trainer’s screen and then switching to your own copy of the Word document.
