This is a  2 hour online training course “Managing Events and H&S Basics”

10.00am – 12.30pm with a break

Essential guidance to help confidently organise more successful events and understand the Health & Safety measures necessary to manage safe Council activities.

Part 1. 10.00-11.00: Community Events Planning

• Establishing your goals, objectives and target audience
• Key steps in planning and running effective activities – before, during and after events
• Providing a practical events toolkit and checklist
• Participants involvement and utilising volunteers
• Maximising publicity – effective promotion and utilising the media

30 minute break

Part 2. 11.30-12.30:  Health & Safety Basics

• Straightforward guidance and examples of risk assessments
• Considerations when using contractors and vendors
• Essential first aid and emergency planning
• Important legal issues and insurance
• The well-being of all participants; including children and vulnerable adults

Mike Deegan has extensive experience of developing successful community grant applications with both a leading Charity and during seven years as a Parish Councillor in Staffordshire.
